Brewing Community Connections: Our Favourite Charnwood Villages' Coffee and Cakes

At Reed & Baum Estate Agents, we believe in not only helping people buy and sell their homes but also in supporting our local fellow business owners.

One way we do this is by celebrating our shared love for coffee, cake and a little lunch by indulging at least once a week and using this as our weekly meeting time!!

Throughout the Charnwood villages, we are fortunate to be surrounded by charming cafes that offer a delightful variety of breakfasts fit for royalty, afternoon teas perfect for queens, and quick coffee fixes for those on the go. In the spirit of supporting local businesses, we're excited to share some of our favourite spots with you…

Quorn

Pretzels Deli; Our recommendation, a ploughman’s lunch…super yummy and a cappuccino to wash it down.

Od Thorpes; Perfect pit stop for a coffee in the pretty courtyard out in the sunshine.

Old School Teahouse; Located right next to Stafford Orchard park it’s a great place to stop with the kids for a spot of lunch after a play date.

Barrow Upon Soar

The Secret Garden Café; Just as it says, this cute café is tucked away behind the main shops and has both indoor and outdoor space, great breakfast butties here!

Freckles; A light and airy double fronted café on the High Street, serving a variety of coffees and cakes, there’s also a little homewares section so you can shop for gifts as well.

Millies Café & Farm Shop; Located on the outskirts of the village and can enjoy your cup of tea with beautiful countryside views and pick up some veggies at the same time!

Mountsorrel

The Farmers Den; This tea shop is located at Stonehurst Family Farm and proudly serves food produced from their own farm, and their menu includes a cream tea!!

Rustic Kitchen & Deli; Opened by 2 friends, both professional chefs, following lockdown, they produce ‘fake-aways’, grazing boxes, pre-prepared food boxes and much more…take a look at their website for more info!

The Buttermarket Café; A traditional café located off the Buttermarket in the village centre, you can enjoy a morning brew outside or enjoy a light lunch.

Rothley

Granites Coffee Shop; Located at Mountsorrel & Rothley Heritage Centre it’s the perfect place to take some time out and enjoy the outdoors including a delicious ice-cream!

Deli 1880 & Mettle & Wishbone; both located in the centre of Rothley offering excellent coffee and cake.

Bark & Brew; Yes this is a coffee shop dedicated to you and your furry friends, with a dedicated doggy menu…a must visit whilst out on a dog walk.

Sileby

The BREWery; They brew speciality Barista coffee, roasted locally in Leicester and serve homemade cakes & traditionally hand crafted, artisan bread.
